Each day, about 77 people receive organ transplants. However, 19 people die each day waiting for transplants that can't take place because of the shortage of donated organs.
If you're not already registered as a donor, please consider it! I have been reading about the absolutely tragic story of a 25 year old girl from Canada named Eva Markvoort. She has cystic fibrosis and is in need of a 2nd double lung transplant. Her situation is dire as she has only been given days to live. Made me think of our kids...no parent ever wants to go through watching their child die. Maybe situations like these can be avoided if we all signed up to donate our organs?
