Apparently she HAS been having bad dreams about "race cars" and tonight she was screaming b/c she heard a noise and swore there was something in the closet. So we turned on the lights and had a family trip to the closet to assure her there was nothing in there. Austin said, "See sissy? No monsters in the closet." She was fine after that (and the blanket ritual to re-cover her in bed...FIVE blankets! In a CERTAIN ORDER!!!) Poor little girl! I tend to think of her as the "brave one" & sometimes forget that she is just a tiny little girl in this big world full of stuff that is new and probably scary. It was a good experience for me....good reminder that she sees Ryan and I as her protectors & security providers.
BTW, Austin hates any kind of dressed up character...he manuevered as close to me and as far away from this friendly "dinosaur" greeting us at the museum. He also had a run in with the bird from Red Robin (our fave place to eat as a family...known affectionately as Rockin' Robin). Anyway, he said, "I don't like that big biwrd!"
